It was your first day on the job as a part of the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit. You'd been working most of your life to get there and become the best of the best at criminal profiling, and finally you almost were. You had already turned down the BAU’s offer twice due to schooling, and after finally obtaining a master’s in biology, you felt you were ready to take on the actual job. Turns out everyone there thought you had been ready a long time ago.
Right now you was starting to regret not actually starting to work sooner. The Quantico building was amazing, the people were fantastic, and there were investigation boards spread throughout rooms everywhere. You really did want to jump up and down and squeal, but that would only make you look more immature than you probably already did.
Elle was your new coworker showing you around. Her and you got along pretty well since she was the only female you had met so far besides “JJ”, who seemed a bit too stuck up for your taste. Besides them, you had also met Hotchman, who you also got along with decently, and Morgan, who you still had to warm up to. At the moment, you were being dragged by the elbow to go meet the resident genius that everyone couldn't stop talking to you about. According to them, you and him were going to get along amazingly well.
"He’s around here somewhere, I could’ve sworn I just saw him,” Elle muttered.
She then yanked you limply past a rolling cart and through an open door, nearly making you collide into a young man who looked about your age. He was wearing one of those sweater vests that not everyone could pull off and a collared shirt that you thought happened to look pretty darn good on him. Not to mention his face and his hair were amazing. Just like, wow.
“Dr. Spencer Reid, this is Dr.(F/N)(L/N). She’s new here and I was just showing her around to the team, as she’ll be working with us from here on out,” Elle introduced us.
“As in the Dr. Spencer Reid?” you blurted out, eyes widening.
The man just furrowed his brow and responded with an awkward, “Yes? Do we know each other from somewhere?”
“Well, you don’t know me, but I’ve read all about you, Doctor Spencer Reid who graduated high school at age twelve with an eidetic memory and a reading speed of 20,000 words per minute. It’s not like a creepy thing though, I’m totally not stalking you, I just really admire your work?” you rushed out. What in the world were you saying? It was as if you had lost control of your vocal chords and your neurons had stopped transmitting entirely. Plus, you thought your face might have been turning a bit red.
Elle stifled a giggle and Reid’s face also flushed a bit. Well, first impressions had never really been your thing.
“Well, you’re behavior and profile don’t suggest that of a stalker, but I can neither confirm nor deny that under the circumstances. If it makes you feel any better, I’ve also heard a decent bit about you. It seems the BAU has been trying to get a hold of you for a while now, so why the sudden change in interest?” he asked. Was I the only one who thought his nerdy speech pattern was totally adorable?
“I’ve actually been schooling for the past few years, I just finished getting my Master’s in biology,” I responded.
“But you’re a doctor?”
“Yeah, I've got a doctorate in psychology, sociology, and physics.”
He rose his eyebrows and a new sort of grin spread over his face as he turned back to Elle, who was just standing to the side with an amused look on her face.
“How long did you say Dr.(L/N) would be staying with us, again?

Spencer Reid x Reader
You stifled a giggle as you were introduced to your new co-worker. You could already tell that you and her were going to get along great, judging from her flamboyant attire. She had sparkly magenta cat ears in her blonde hair, bright pink glasses, and an adorable blue sequined shirt. Seeing her dressed up like that made you feel a little less self conscious about the vibrant purple dress and lime green cardigan you had chosen for your first day of your new job.
"Miss _______, this is Penelope Garcia, and she's going to be your trainer for the first few weeks." Said the pretty blonde who had met you at the entrance of the big government build

Hoping (Spencer Reid X Reader)
You followed the muscular, dark-skinned man around. You were starting at the BAU and were going to be helping someone named Garcia with the technological stuff. But first this man, whose name was Morgan you thought, was having you meet the rest of the team. He led you to an office, where people were milling around.
"This is Emily Prentiss." Morgan said gesturing at a pretty woman with black hair. You waved shyly. You were terribly shy around new people, and weren't a huge fan of physical contact.
"Good to meet you Agent __l/n__." Prentiss said with a smile. Then Morgan pointed at a tall man with dark hair on the other side of the room.

Spencer Reid x Reader: Be Yourself
Today, you were meeting Dr. Spencer Reid at your coffee shop. You had seen a picture of him, and he was pretty cute. The bell rung, signaling that someone had entered the shop. And there stood the Doctor.
"Hey, Spence! It's me, [Your Name]." You were cleaning up a little.
"Hi, [Your Name]. Wow, you're.. More beautiful in person." He was already making you blush. What a cute guy.
"Thank you, Spencer. So, would you like some coffee? I was just about to close it down."
"Sure, um.. Do you have anything sweet? Other than yourself?" Was he trying to pick you up? If so, then it was working.
"Aren't you a sweet talker? Okay, I'll bite. Yes, we sal

Well, I've just recently started watching Criminal Minds, and I'm only on the ninth episode of the first season or so, but I am totally and utterly in love with the one and only Dr. Spencer Reid. The disappointing thing is how unrealistic of a character he is, seeing how no human being could read 20,000 words per minute and an IQ of above 170 is about a one in a million chance. Also, in order to get appointed to the BAU you normally have to have been working for the general FBI for at least 10 years. Yeah, Reid is 23. If he graduated at age 12, he would have had to start working at the FBI when he was 13. Plus somewhere in there he gained three doctorates and two bachelors..
Anyway, this is my fictional world so to hell with reality. If Reid can be a genius, so can reader!you.
